an interesting take on a 2d stealth heist kind of thing. controls are alright, interesting mechanics. however the downside is that the player can just use an autoclicker to steal everything, imo it'd be better to make them input a random string of keys and that'd be good. ui needs a bit of improvement but it's nothing critical. 4/5

A few people suggested using a key instead of the mouse to steal things, that way I could add controller support. If I did that, would people be able to use something similar to an autoclicker to steal things?

PROS:

Good pixel art.
Smooth controls.
Fun gameplay.

CONS:

None, really.

CONCLUSION:

The game is really good itself and I have pretty high hopes for the full game if it happens, the stuff below this is just suggestions.

Pixel art is good, but still, nothing can still be good. I reccomend watching MortMort for help with pixel art, he's practically a god of it.

Well, the pixel art will have to stay at good for this project. I have my limits ^^ Though I'll try to improve for future projects, like always.

Even though not required, the graphics are really smooth.
The gameplay may be cookie-cutter, but it's fun for a while.

CONS:

Nothing really, everything is fine.

PROS:

I like the Hold To Use Menu feature in this, it's just more secure and it just looks cool.
Pixel art is decent, I would recommend watching MortMort for pixel art tutorials.
Music is great, guitar is going strong in the menu theme.

CONS:

The enemies just stay there and you can go on for miles in endless mode by just going AFK.
Attacking is just holding space which is generally really weak, don't be afraid to use over mechanics like Cuphead's different guns feature or just make shooting rapid fire instead of a beam.

Just a few suggestions.

Make the sound effects lower than the volume of the actual music, wall jumping just interrupts and it feels awkward.

Since the art style for the game is pixel art, I would strongly recommend MortMort, he's really helpful and has a handful of tutorials to help you.

I feel like a tutorial at the beginning would be better and text below the start screen saying "Press To Enter" or something, because I was a bit confused at first.

Overall, it's slightly better than most games here, good platforming and more.

Thank you for the feedback! The visuals and sfx are definitely things we are working to better ourselves with. We should start to have better ideas of how to design and implement these elements as we continue though.

I'll just write down the pros and cons of this game.

PROS:

Decent platforming and it's something to play when you're bored.
Background art isn't perfect, but still okay.

CONS:

Controls are as awkward as Getting Over It With Bennet Foddy and I would've made quick attack right shift.
Random high jumps that can take you over the trees.
Character art is bad.
